Some of the most outstanding features of St. Petersburg are its beautiful palaces and churches and the "White Nights”, which peak at the end of June. DIS Information Session

Working on or planning to start an application for DIS Copenhagen for Fall 2017? If you're looking for information about the processes on both the DIS and Duke side of things, this session is for you!  We will cover application processes, dates and deadlines, negotiating transfer credit and course approvals, finances/financial aid, and overview of what to expect from DIS.  

We will start promptly at 10am and will keep moving forward, but feel free to arrive when you're able. We will also field individial questions as time allows.

We recognize students with marginalized SOGIE may have unique concerns related to their study away experience, therefore we are offering advising appointments in the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity three times throughout the Spring 2017 semester.

This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about this new one course summer program in Chicago focusing on finance and business. The faculty director, Prof. John Caccavale will be skyping in from NY (he is currently teaching on our Duke in NY spring financial markets program) so you will be able to ‘meet’ him virtually and ask questions. Jennifer Valentyn and Paul Paparella will be on hand at the meeting to discuss other aspects of the summer program, including administrative, logistical and financial details.

Duke in Venice is based at Venice International University (VIU), located on the island of San Servolo. VIU is an association of universities and organizations from around the world. Faculty from the partner universities offer courses at VIU, all taught in English. Students will have the opportunity to take courses from all of these international scholars, and will enjoy a truly international academic experience by mixing with their European peers.

Out in the World: A Panel Featuring LGBTQ Identified Students' Experiences Studying Abroad

Interested in studying abroad but have questions about LGBTQIA+ topics in an international context?  To help prepare you for the study abroad deadlines coming up (Feb. 1 for Summer Duke-In programs and Mar. 1 for Fall), a panel of Duke students who have studied abroad will talk about their experience as an LGBTQ-identified person outside of the U.S. After the moderated discussion, panelists will answer your questions.

Duke in Glasgow, Fall 2017 Information Session

Offered each fall, the program begins with a visit to London, featuring meetings with members of Parliament and visits to key cultural and political institutions. Additionally, students typically travel to other sites of political and historical interest in Scotland.
 
While at Glasgow, students on the program take a specifically designed course on British policy and politics (PUBPOL 450AS) and three additional elective courses from the University of Glasgow’s regular offerings.
