Alayne Wood is most at home working with others who are equally smitten with all aspects of global education, and thrives on helping to facilitate rich experiences abroad for students and faculty. She holds a BA in Modern Languages from Eisenhower College of RIT, and her initial study abroad experience in Angers, France solidified her love of travel and studying other cultures. She completed her MA in French Language and Culture Studies at the Middlebury College School in Paris, France, with a thesis focusing on the correlation between language immersion and cultural competence.
Alayne most recently served as an International Program Coordinator in the Office of International Affairs at Arcadia University, and previously worked with the Center For Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) at Emory University.
A native of New York's gorgeous Hudson River Valley, Alayne is an avid yogi and meditator, and can often be found at local farmer's markets and arts festivals. Alayne joined GEO in 2015.
Primary responsibilities: Advising for Europe (except Spain, Portugal, Ireland, & the UK), Oceania (Australia and New Zealand); program management for Duke in Australia (summer), Duke in Geneva (summer), Duke in Greece (summer), Duke in Paris (summer); direct annual Global Education Fair.
