Amy is the Associate Director of the Global Education Office. With over a decade of experience working in higher education and study away, Amy is experienced in program development, program management, crisis response, and advising. During her time as an undergraduate, Amy did a semester-long internship in Washington D.C. that significantly changed her future career goals. This experience, along with the two years she volunteered in the Peace Corps (Lesotho 2005-2007), shaped her passion for providing experiential learning opportunities alongside study away.

Today she advocates for students to explore their future career interests alongside their academic interests whenever possible. Amy holds a B.A. in Political Science and Religious Studies from the University of Iowa and an M.A. in Comparative Politics from the University of Missouri. Amy joined Duke’s Global Education Office for Undergraduates in 2019.

Primary Responsibilities:  Associate Director for Global Education Office for Undergraduates Program Management: Duke Kunshan University (semester), Duke in Russia (summer), Duke in St. Petersburg (semester), and Duke Study in China (summer).
