GEO Business Manager

Heidi Halstead grew up in San Antonio and has a B.A. in English and Theater Arts from Texas A&M University, where she subsequently started KEOS, a community-based non-profit radio station. She worked at Texas A&M as the testing administrator from 1997-2000. She then earned her Masters of Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2002, through which she completed a 13-week internship in Grahamstown, South Africa at the National Schools Arts Festivals. Prior to joining Finance and Operations for the Office of Undergraduate Education in 2013, Heidi served for nine years as the business manager of Duke's Music Department.  Heidi has hosted a music radio show, “Ariadne’s Thread,” on WCOM Community Radio in Carrboro, since February 2003.
 
Primary Responsibilities: Business Manager of GEO Duke-In programs. Responsibilities include finance administration, budgeting, and financial training for GEO faculty and staff, as well as managing fiscal year-end closing.
