Individual study away advising appointments are 30 minutes long and most are held virtually through Zoom. See the Advising Overview page for instructions on how to schedule an appointment.

Save Your Confirmation Email: You will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details including a link to your advisor's Zoom room. If you need to cancel or reschedule, use the link in your confirmation email to manage your appointment.

Cancellation: If you cannot make your confirmed appointment, please let us know. Either manage your appointment using the link in your confirmation email, or send an email directly to your GEO advisor. You may also call 919-684-2174 to cancel.

Late Policy: GEO advisors are not able to meet with students who arrive more than 10 minutes late to their scheduled appointment. If you are running late, please email your GEO advisor.

Prior to booking an individual advising appointment with a GEO advisor, you should attend a Group Info Session to give you a basic understanding of the study away process at Duke. During your individual appointment, you'll be able to ask more specific questions and get customized advice for your individual needs and goals.
